Privacy Policy
Last updated October 22, 2026
Clause helps you understand agreements before you sign. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how long we keep it. It is not legal advice.
What we store
- Account data — email and authentication records via Supabase Auth when you sign in.
- Agreements you save — document text, analyses, preference profiles, deadlines, and drafts you create in Clause.
- Preference rules — durable settings you choose during onboarding or grey-area questions.
What we do not do
- We do not auto-accept, sign, or click Agree on your behalf.
- We do not sell your agreement content. Analysis providers process text to return structured findings; configure your AI provider keys in your own environment.
- Ephemeral “try without saving” flows (when offered) discard text after the session — saved agreements persist until you delete them.
Chrome extension
The extension extracts page or selected text in your browser and sends it to your configured Clause web app for analysis. No LLM API keys are stored in the extension. Optional host permissions are user-granted.
